Certificate Course in Open Source Economic Development

Purdue University is partnering with the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma to present a certificate course in Open Source Economic Development.  This course is designed for civic leaders, economic development practitioners and workforce development practitioners. The integration of economic and workforce development is accelerating. Civic leaders and professional practitioners need new tools and frameworks to think and act strategically.

This course in Open Source Economic development represents the first of its kind to teach how to manage complex economic and workforce development initiatives within open networks. We will deliver the course in three segments: a three-day workshop in Indianapolis in September; six months of fieldwork in your own community applying the concepts and tools you've learned; and a final three-day workshop in which you will apply the concepts and develop a strategy for a community.
